Tessi Leila Toluta’u arrives with Miss South Pacific crown

Family and friends have this morning welcomed the arrival of the Miss South Pacific 2007 at the International Fua'amotu Airport.

A float parade was held to welcome the newly crowned, 18 year old Tessi Leila Toluta'u from the airport to Fa'onelua Park, a joint effort of the Ministry of Tourism, Tonga Tourist Association and the Miss Heilala committee.

Speaking to Radio and Television Tonga News, Tessi says she's ecstatic and overwhelmed to win the Miss South Pacific 2007.

She says this is something good for Tonga and it gives people hope that there is something good out there.

Meanwhile, the reigning Miss South Pacific says one of the challenges she had faced during the pageant was probably being patient and to understand others despite the similarities in cultures.

Tessi also believes that in order to accomplish something, things must be taken step by step and little by little.

In welcoming Tessi, Director of Tourism, Edgar Cocker says she will be working with the Tonga Visitor's Bureau and this would be a good start to promote tourism in the Kingdom.
